The 'Quote Me Happy' insurance people Norwich Union have come up with some amazing facts regarding the way we feel about happiness and home-life.
In a nationwide survey in which 2000 men and women were asked whether they considered their home to be happy, nearly all respondents said yes. North Easterners proved themselves among the happiest of all with a rating of 96%. Quite why the Geordies are so cheerful is hard to say: it's unlikely to be because they came 14th in the Premiership last season, and it surely can't be the weather.
However, least happy are the Moaning Minnies of London, where only 84% think their home is a happy one, with 16% claiming it isn't. The rest of the ...cont/
supposedly prosperous South East aren't far behind in the misery stakes either.
Fiona Somerton-Edwards, of Norwich Union, explained: "Our 'Quote Me Happy' insurance campaign has really caught the public's imagination this year, so we thought we'd find out how happy people really felt about their home-life. The results make fascinating reading which will certainly influence the way we communicate." And the happiest time of year? "Summer, definitely, closely followed by Christmas."
