It is not only humans which suffer from strange afflictions – pets are being struck down by unusual conditions too.
British pets are being taken to the vets for a lot more than just a routine jab and some flea maintenance according to new research. Sleeping disorders, narcolepsy, acne and flatulence are some of the more unusual claims recently received by Tesco pet insurance.
If that wasn’t enough for the nation’s vets to look forward to, one of the top ten most frequent claims for both cats and dogs is the removal of a foreign body. And clumsy pets account for the majority of the most common claims with cuts, lacerations and road traffic accidents being the main causes of your pet’s agony.

cost to treat a pet involved in a road traffic accident weighing in at £379 for a dog and £251 for a cat.
Costs incurred when treating some of our pet’s more unusual afflictions are not so easy to determine, however.
